OnFinality was born from the painful experience that our team went through managing decentralised infrastructure in many different blockchain companies back in 2018. We’re developers ourselves, and we know exactly how frustrating and time consuming blockchain DevOps can be. We grew in partnership with a few key cornerstone customers (notably Acala), and this allowed us to solve key pain points and reach product market fit early.

Network Prototyping Tools
We provide a suite of tools for network developers, including a command line tool, public API, and features in our OnFinality app are designed to turn the traditionally laborious process of deploying and bootstrapping a new test network into something that can be automated as part of a development CI/CD Pipeline. This service works in a way that it is compatible by default with any well constructed Substrate network.

One-Click Node Deployment
In only a few minutes you can have your own node deployed in our infrastructure. With our lightning sync technology, we can restore nodes from full-synced backups to allow you to catch up almost instantaneously. You can fully manage your nodes using the OnFinality app or API, including upgrading images and expanding storage and compute. Our applications allow you to monitor your nodes in one dashboard with full metrics and alerts all online.

Enhanced API Service
We manage all the nodes for you and distribute them across the world (with intelligent routing) to achieve global scalability from day 1. We are continually working hard to drive down costs while providing superior infrastructure service across all three dimensions (performance, reliability, and scalability).

Our Enhanced API service has been a runaway hit with customers, and we are currently operating at a scale of over 600+ million API responses through our service each day. Of this, over 24 billion were in March alone representing a 240% growth over October 2021. At the end of 2021, Polkadot, Kusama, Karura, Moonbase Alpha, Khala, and Moonriver had each exceeded 1 billion requests through OnFinality over their lifetime.

Network Developers
Before a protocol is launched as a mainnet, teams of network developers need to test their network at a smaller private scale to ensure that there aren’t any detrimental bugs or issues with the theory. In centralised platforms this is an easy process as it can be simulated on one device, however a network requires multiple nodes to communicate with each other, and therefore a network can only be tested through using multiple nodes.

We provide this service, allowing network developers like yourself, to successfully launch your network with the peace of mind that you have had an accurate simulation of the real network during testing, and have addressed potential issues before they become actualised in the mainnet.

Network developers want to have nodes that run on their platform reliably and globally as this increases the stability of their network. This allows us to run top end nodes as we work closely with protocol teams.

dApp developers that have relatively intensive connectivity to a network may elect to dedicate an entire node to their project, which we support through the dedicated node service. We remain flexible to ensure that each project can fulfil their needs through our platform.

Smaller Teams and Individuals
OnFinality isn’t just for large network or dApp developers! Our dedicated node service is great to use for smaller teams and individuals who lack the scale to host their own nodes. We provide an easy to use platform for connecting to larger networks at the fraction of the price you would otherwise have to pay.

For example, if you are looking to index specific information off a network, you may only require a few nodes for a few minutes each day. If you were to run your own node, you would need to service this and run it constantly, whereas we allow you to use these nodes for the amount of time you need, and only pay for what you use.
