The Problem Facing Nodle
Nodle is a decentralized IoT (Internet of Things) network on Polkadot providing secure, low-cost connectivity, and data liquidity to connect billions of IoT devices worldwide. The Nodle network is powered by millions of Bluetooth-enabled smartphones that earn Nodle Cash (NODL). Nodle provides insights for consumer electronics manufacturers, enterprises, smart cities, the finance industry and more. Since its creation in 2017, Nodle has become one of the world’s largest wireless networks by number of base stations.
Nodle was faced with the need for a secure metrics reporting on their network and was in a dilemma of deciding whether to build their own endpoint infrastructure which would come with a significant time and resource expenditure, reducing the amount of focus on building the actual network and the directly relevant features.
Nodle had existing node infrastructure, but this had to be manually maintained, draining more resources. Rather than continuing to build upon this system, they elected to move to OnFinality’s setup, allowing them to build on infrastructure that was more cost-effective and automated.
How OnFinality Helped Nodle
Nodle had been using docker containers to package and ship their nodes internally. Switching from their existing workflow to OnFinality was rather seamless due to the product being built around a similar docker based workflow.

OnFinality provided a quick and easy option for Nodle to successfully transition their node management infrastructure without having to go through cumbersome server setup or maintenance. This was a suitable option for Nodle as OnFinality could provide automated systems alongside clear metrics through the API endpoint.
