April by the Numbers
- 24.4 Billion requests in April over our 40 supported networks, down 4% from March
- At the end of April, OnFinality has served over 170 Billion requests over our lifetime to hundreds of application developers and users
- We are seeing growth in the data on each chain, with over 68 terabytes of data egress from OnFinality’s API endpoints in April, up 7% from March
- We published new API endpoints with Robonomics, Oak Turing, Nodle Parachain and Centrifuge Parachain.
- Continued to support further networks with our “Lightning Restore” feature
April Report
1 Billion daily requests is rapidly becoming the norm at OnFinality, a number that was just a dream a year ago. Over the course of the year (2022) we’ve had a total of 92.8 billion requests. Comparing 2021 to 2022 is always a fun exercise, month on month, in 2022 we grew 1,334%!
Stability
We’ve always prided ourselves on offering the most reliable, scalable, and performant service in the Polkadot ecosystem. In April we doubled down on our focus here with some serious rewrites of our load balancing system and node infrastructure. Our efforts here are represented by our 99.9% uptime target, a high bar that means less than 9 hours of downtime per year.
We’ve been proud to surpass this target in most of our supported networks, with 99.99% uptime across Kusama, Acala, Moonriver, Parallel Finance and 99.98% on Polkadot, Astar, Moonbeam, and Bifrost. From this month you can also follow along with our target uptime by viewing the live numbers on our new status page (status.onfinality.io)
Expanding Support for More API Services
In April, we created the following new Enhanced API service support with Robonomics, Nodle Parachain, Centrifuge Parachain. You can also deploy dedicated nodes in any of the above networks via OnFinality (app.onfinality.io). This now brings our total supported network count to 46.
Service Updates
Providing fast and effective support for our clients is extremely important. We’ve recently overhauled our support services so that we can better react and help users achieve their goals. We’ve made it easier to create tickets via the embedded support link in our website, by visiting our support desk at support.onfinality.io, or by emailing support@onfinality.io.
In the past month we have also completely overhauled our documentation, and have further plans to add a lot more developer docs relating to our API endpoint and CI/CD automation tools. This new documentation site can be accessed at documentation.onfinality.io and is also tightly integrated with our support desk (so you receive suggestions while you type).
